Every great community begins with an idea. From homes and food production to new businesses and entirely new ways of living, the possibilities are limited only by what we can imagine and what we're willing to build together. Bring your ideas. Bring your experience. Let’s create what comes next.

There is an old wisdom in planting a tree whose shade you may never sit beneath.
The pioneers before us built with what they had. They cleared land, raised families, learned trades, built farms and businesses, and passed down knowledge earned through years of hard work and experience. Today, we have an opportunity to carry that spirit forward but perhaps do something differently.
What if the next generation didn't spend their best working years simply earning a paycheque, only to start over again every Monday?
What if part of their labour helped them build equity, assets and ownership?
Our experienced generations have something enormously valuable to contribute: knowledge. They know how to build, repair, grow, manage, solve problems and recognize mistakes before they become expensive ones. Our younger generations bring energy, new technology, creativity and a willingness to imagine things differently.
Put those two generations together, and something powerful can happen.
The old pioneers can help guide the new pioneers not by deciding their future for them, but by helping them build it.
We can create opportunities where young people actually get to own what they work for. Where effort can build equity. Where creativity is rewarded. Where someone can look back after twenty years and see more than a collection of paycheques and a sore body. They can see a home, a business, productive land, community assets, or a share in something they helped create.
Some of us may be planting oak trees whose full branches we will never sit beneath.
That's okay.
If we plant them well, teach the next generation how to care for them, and give them a genuine stake in what they are building, perhaps our greatest legacy won't be what we leave to them.
It will be what we teach them to build for themselves.

Homeowners remain in control of their home and choose the living arrangement that works best for them. Their private home and front yard remain their own, while the rear portion of the property is thoughtfully shared with approved Guardian members. Instead of paying rent, members make a monthly contribution toward their housing, property upkeep, and shared living costs.
We are bringing together landowners, tradespeople, entrepreneurs, investors, innovators and everyday people to build communities differently.
JOIN GUARDIAN ECONOMY DISCOVER THE GUILDNot everyone has millions of dollars. But together, people already possess millions of dollars worth of land, skills, equipment, knowledge, ideas and opportunity.
The newly forming Developers Guild & Community Development Hub is about bringing those pieces together.
Instead of beginning every development with massive debt, we begin by asking: What do we already have?
Sometimes a homeowner doesn't want to sell. They simply need their property to start helping support them.
The Guild could connect homeowners with development knowledge, trades and resources to explore legal secondary suites, garden suites, shared living arrangements and other income-producing possibilities where permitted.
Create income from what you already own — so selling your home doesn't have to be the only option.
SEE THE HOME CONVERSION IDEA →Explore new ways of creating housing where thoughtful design, shared resources, food production and community can work together.
From small housing developments to innovative concepts like Guardian Sunburst Village, we want to rethink what affordable community development can look like.
EXPLORE MORE HOUSING IDEAS →Greenhouses, walipinis, hydroponics, local agriculture and year-round growing systems can become part of the communities we build — not an afterthought.
Housing and food security can work together to create stronger, more resilient local economies.
SEE OUR FOOD SECURITY IDEAS →Develop land into places where people can live, visit, grow food, operate businesses and experience rural communities.
From full-time RV communities to destination AgriResorts, every property can inspire a different opportunity.
DISCOVER AGRIRESORT IDEAS →Not every project will be structured the same way. But where appropriate, individual projects could create opportunities for participating people to become workers, contractors, entrepreneurs, investors, operators or owners.
Guardian Economy and the Developers Guild Hub bring people together. When a viable commercial opportunity develops, that individual project may be established separately through an appropriate corporation, cooperative or other legal structure.
This allows each project to have its own participants, agreements, financing and ownership structure.
You don't have to be wealthy.
You don't have to be a developer.
You may have something just as valuable:
Bring your skills. Bring your ideas. Bring your property. Bring your experience.
Meet others who may have the pieces you don't.
